The Bierothek® now reaches a quarter of a billion Europeans

The Bierothek® is opening up new foreign markets with its online shop and now enables over 250 million Europeans to legally purchase German and international beer specialties across borders. In France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden and Finland, end customers can order beer from Bierothek® directly from Germany without having to worry about customs clearance or other legal obstacles.

The well-known beer specialist retailer Bierothek®, headquartered in Bamberg, is making further progress and expanding its online presence in Europe. After customers from Sweden and Austria have been able to legally order beer online from Bierothek® since last year , this offer is now being expanded again. From now on, beer lovers from France , Italy , the Netherlands and Finland benefit from the wide selection of beers offered by Bierothek®.

“We are very pleased to now be able to make our offering available to over 250 million Europeans. The demand for high-quality beer from Germany but also from all over the world has increased continuously in recent years,” says Christian Klemenz, Managing Director of the Bierothek®. “We want to delight beer lovers across Europe with our wide range of craft beer.”

Uncomplicated, simple and transparent.

Legal regulations, such as national excise taxes or other legal hurdles in the respective country, have previously made cross-border online trading of alcoholic beverages such as beer more difficult. The Bierothek® has nevertheless taken on this challenge and is becoming one of the first German online retailers in its industry to ship beer to its customers abroad in a legally compliant manner. No additional costs due to customs or long waiting times for the goods are noticeable advantages for Bierothek® customers. The customer should also feel this when shopping.

“We have decided to be transparent about the additional costs that foreign customers incur as a result of legally compliant sales. “The customer should understand why the same beer, for example, costs more in Finland than in Germany,” explains Christian Klemenz. “In return, the customer is assured that their order will arrive at their home without any problems.”

German breweries also benefit

Until now, shipping German beers abroad was associated with high costs, great effort and many legal hurdles and was therefore hardly profitable for German breweries. The Bierothek® now offers German breweries a safe and legal platform for shipping their beer specialties abroad. With the help of the Bierothek® marketplace, a secure system for shipping freshly brewed beer specialties is created. Breweries from all over Germany have the opportunity to establish a direct sales channel for their beer specialties at home and abroad and thus increase their awareness. “We are very pleased to be able to enable breweries from Germany to go abroad thanks to our new marketplace functionality and thus make German beer specialties even more easily accessible abroad,” says Bierothek® founder Christian Klemenz enthusiastically.

International shipping via the Bierothek® marketplace is scheduled to start in the middle of this year.
