Bierothek® switches to refrigerated transport

Bamberger Bierothek GmbH is again investing in the quality of the products it trades and is now also switching pallet shipping to wholesale customers to refrigerated transport. The market leader in the area of specialty beer stores is once again moving forward and setting a new industry standard in terms of quality.

After Bierothek GmbH converted the storage of its beers in the central warehouse near Bamberg to complete cooling at the beginning of the year and has also been offering refrigerated shipping for end-customer parcel shipping for a few months now, the Franconian beer specialist retailer is now taking another step in terms of beer quality and shipping the picked pallet goods Wholesale customers and our own Bierothek® branches are now also cooled. “We are gradually working on improving our processes in terms of cost-effectiveness, beer quality and sustainability so that we can offer our customers the most attractive offer on the market,” says Bierothek® founder Christian Klemenz about the specialty retailer’s new investment.

The fresh product beer benefits from maintaining the longest possible cold chain and hop-based beers in particular receive the necessary quality on the way from the brewery to the consumer. At the same time, the aspect of sustainability plays a central role in these investments for the Bamberg start-up company. Since the beginning, the central cold storage facility of the Bierothek® has been powered 100% by electricity from renewable hydropower and transport-related CO2 emissions are offset as part of offsetting measures. With the introduction of refrigerated transport in the wholesale sector, Bierothek GmbH is once again leading the way in the still young German craft beer market and is preparing to set industry standards.
