The Estonian brewery Anderson’s has a passion for barrel aging and always demonstrates a skillful hand when selecting its wooden barrels: the team brings the world’s most renowned distilleries on board and extracts the most aromatic woods from them. Islay is the southernmost island in Scotland and a place known for its excellent whiskey. Lagavulin is one of the island’s most successful and oldest distilleries and Anderson’s partner for one of her most popular beers.
Tõrv Sai Teoks is an imperial oatmeal stout aged in Lagavulin barrels. The brew contains a powerful 12.5% alcohol content and conjures up the unmistakable peat aroma of good whiskey in the glass. The oat flakes contained counteract it with soft grain notes and give the beer a wonderfully thick, creamy texture.
Anderson’s Tõrv Sai Teoks is presented in dark mahogany and crowned with a hazelnut brown crown of dense, creamy foam. When poured into the glass, the fiery scent of fine whiskey spreads and promises a spicy beer enjoyment. The taste profile follows the olfactory first impression and hits the tongue with strong bourbon notes, wood, peat, roasted aromas, smoke and leather. The intense play of aromas is permeated by warm alcohol notes, which are cleverly integrated into the overall picture.
